You Can't Wake A Person Who's Pretending To Slumber

"Comfort zones construct barriers against change. For many people know better, but don't do better because it may take them beyond their normal range. Outcomes of misfortune or good advice in a great portion will not move someone if you wonder. For you can't wake a person who is pretending to slumber."

You can only help people who want to help themselves. A lot of times people know they need to change certain things about themselves but fail to do so because they don’t want to deal with the realities that come along with it. It’s much easier to blame your bad habits on those traits just being who you are. Yet, the fact of the matter is that you have a choice to improve those things or let them fester. You could give the greatest advice known to man it won’t sink in until that person is ready to receive it. I’m not saying anyone should stop trying to communicate out of concern, but what I would say to that person is to consider the state of the person and whether or not they are ready to receive your message.
