"Homework is an opportunity to hone work. To develop insight, one must become familiar with the logic of a thing. It will only become second nature when you make becoming a student your first."
People often misinterpret their expertise on a matter, based on their acquisition of a basic understanding. It’s easy to miss the opportunities to dive into the complexities when you become prideful based on what you’ve learned. If you ask anyone who has accomplished something great AND maintained a reputation of achievement, you will notice they all deemed themselves as lifetime students. They never stop learning because they realized that there is always something that they don’t know. When you want to know something, you have to spend time seeking it and understanding it. It’s only when you’ve become intimate with a subject or a process, that you develop and comprehend its true nature.
